the yellows of italy:

the next best thing to selling postcards on the street in france
I carried this perfect yellow leaf halfway around Green Lakes before the sun came out and I was able to place it on this beautiful tree trunk. Although Syracuse was supposed to be at high-foliage while I was there, a lot of the leaves hadn't decided to change yet, so yellows were harder to find than I had originally imagined.
While waiting for the sun to re-emerge from a diagonal cloud, I impatiently snapped the photo that I wanted to take eventually. Good thing because 10 or so minutes later the sun stayed hidden, and I had to catch up with Mom and Anne who had ventured ahead on the Green Lakes trail. Taken at Dead Man's Cove ... the gray blur in the background is the shallow, crystal clear water over the white sand.
It's definitely hard to resist posting flower pics for the color themes... and I was amazed to see how few 'yellows' I have in my archives! This was taken at Goodnestone Park Gardens.
... and this at the White Cliffs of Dover - Samphire Hoe.
